If you are worried about getting a dry itchy scalp, then I know what you are going through. I used to have a very dry and itchy scalp until I figure out how to prevent it. What most people don’t realize is that preventing a dry itchy scalp is a lot easier than they think. Trust me on this one, I used to think preventing this was impossible but it really isn’t.

Being that I know what it takes to prevent a dry itchy scalp, I decided to put together a short list of tips to help you prevent it. What you need to understand is that everybody is different so if you try one of the following tips and it doesn’t work 100%, then you need to move onto a different tip and try it out. Just know that it might take a little bit to figure out what works and what doesn’t but once you know this you won’t have to experiment any more.

Tips To Prevent A Dry Itchy Scalp

Wash Hair Sparingly – Do you currently wash your hair every single day? The reason I ask this is because it is recommended that you wash your hair every 2-3 days. I understand that you may want to wash your hair every day but just know that it could be the reason your scalp is so dry. My advice would be to experiment with this and try to wait 2 days or even 3 days before washing your hair.

Don’t Use Hair Spray – If you have been using hair spray to maintain and style your hair, then you should stop. The reason why hair spray should not be used is because it is a chemical that can burn your scalp. What you need to understand is that gel is the best to style your hair because it doesn’t soak into your scalp like hair spray does.

Use Conditioner – How often do you use conditioner after you have shampooed your hair? Most people either use conditioner 2 times a week of every single day and both of these are not right. What you need to do is use conditioner 3 times a week and make sure that you leave it in your hair for at least 3 minutes. The benefit of doing this is that it will help moisturize your scalp while at the same time making your hair silky smooth.

As you can see, preventing a dry itchy scalp is not that difficult. All you need to do is figure out what methods will work best for you and then do those. Trust me, a dry itchy scalp is easier to prevent than it is to cure so make sure you do whatever you can before it is too late.
