Do you currently have a dry itchy scalp? A lot of people that have a dry itchy scalp look for a remedy that they can use to cure it and that is what I want to help you with today. What most people don’t understand is the remedy you may need could be something very simple.

Being that nobody wants a dry itchy scalp I have search long and hard to give you some of the best remedies I could find online and from doctors. Like with anything, every person and their situation is different so you first need to assess your situation and go from there. Just know that if you have a dry itchy scalp, then these remedies will benefit you immensely.

Dry Itchy Scalp Remedies

Use Mayonnaise – One great way to remedy a dry itchy scalp is to simply apply mayonnaise to your scalp. In order for this to work you need to apply a thick layer of mayonnaise to your head and make sure you gently massage it into your scalp. A lot of people have heard of this home remedy but most people don’t try it because they think it won’t work. Yes, it will work but it also feels really weird and smells a little off.  If you don’t mind the smell and you want to get rid of the itchiness, then it is important that you use mayonnaise on your head.

Remedies For Dry Itchy ScalpStop Using Dandruff Shampoo – Did you know that a dry scalp doesn’t always cause dandruff? The reason I want you to know this is because using dandruff shampoo when you don’t have dandruff will just cause your scalp to become even dryer. What I highly recommend is that you take a close look at your scalp to see if you have dandruff or just dry skin. Once you determine what you have, it is then time to either stop using dandruff shampoo and switch to something with a conditioner additive.

Eliminate Sun Exposure – Another thing that causes a dry itchy scalp is constant sun exposure and that is why you need to eliminate how much sun you actually get. What most people don’t realize is that too much sun is never a good thing for you. If you can’t eliminate the time you spend in the sun, then I recommend using a mild sun block. Whatever you do, you need to make sure that your scalp is not exposed to the sun as often as it currently is.

Eliminate Chemical Exposure – Did you know that hair gel, hair spray and even mouse can cause your scalp to dry up? This is why I recommend that you eliminate any chemical exposure until you figure out what is causing your dry scalp. What most people don’t realize is that sometimes the cause is not something major and it just takes a minor tweak in order to fix your dry itchy scalp. If there is one thing I would do it would be to change what goes on my scalp and this means any hair care products that you are currently using.

As you can see above, there are many remedies for a dry itchy scalp. What you need to do now is determine which remedy will benefit you the most and start it right away. I know how bad a dry itchy scalp feels and that is why I want to make sure you get through this as quickly as possible. Just know that when you have a itchy dry scalp there are many ways to get past it.
